JESS LONG

STARLINGS ASSISTANT TEACHER

Since 2016, Jess Long, our new Starlings Assistant Teacher, has worked as a substitute teacher and Friday park day assistant for the preschool. She is thrilled to officially join the team for the 2019-2020 school year working with Ms Jessica each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Recently, you’ve seen her filling in for Melanie and Lori in the office, whilst each was subbing in classrooms.  Jess moved with her family from Nashville to Atlanta in 1996.  She attended high school at DeKalb School of the Arts, where she double majored in creative writing and theatre.  Jess received her bachelor’s degree in criminal forensics from the University of Alabama, and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Kentucky University.  Jess is currently a student at Mercer University, where she is almost done with her Ph.D. in counseling. She lives in Dunwoody with her husband, Joe, and their three fur children: a cat, Calcifer, and two dogs, Sweet Tea and Coal. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, going on road trips, and crocheting!
